Installing version 0.2.4 over an existing copy, on your own
This is for a computer that already has Memory Recall. If this is a first install, close this page and open Memory Recall install guide.html instead.
Your recordings, transcripts, summaries, speaker names, license, and passphrase stay. The update replaces the program, not your files.
Please do these before you run the update, and keep a note of what you find. Do not change any of these settings — just read them.
If an antivirus window pops up during the update saying it blocked or quarantined something, do not click Allow or Restore. Take a photo of the window and let the installer finish or stop. If it stopped, run it again. If it stops a second time, email the photo to support@memoryrecall.ai.
MemoryRecall-Setup-0.2.4.exe, its
.manifest.json, and SHA256.txt.SmartScreen — a blue box that says “Windows protected your PC” with only Don’t run showing. Click More info, then Run anyway. Windows shows this for a program it has not seen many times; it is about the program being new, not a sign that it is unsafe.
User Account Control — a dark box asking whether to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes. Click Yes. The installer is not signed yet, so the publisher line looks unfamiliar. That is expected.
MemoryRecall-Setup-0.2.4.exe.Open Memory Recall from the desktop shortcut. Sign in with the same passphrase. You should see your existing recordings. You do not need to restart the computer after entering the passphrase.
Nothing is lost by trying again. The installer continues from where it stopped.
If it stops a third time in the same place, email support@memoryrecall.ai the log it names
(usually C:\Program Files\MemoryRecallCustomer\bootstrap-setup.log) and do not
uninstall to “start clean” unless we ask. Uninstalling drops the database —
transcripts, summaries, speaker names and voiceprints — even though your original audio files stay.
